Start Raising Young African Lives (SRYAL) is a youth-led community development center that strengthens African immigrant and refugee communities by investing in youth and young adults of African descent. Its programs cover education, leadership, mentorship, health and wellness, sports and cultural pride.

The challenge
What needed solving
SRYAL needed a site that speaks to young people, families, schools and donors at once, and that shows the organization is run by and for youth rather than about them.
What we did
- Led with people, not stock graphics: large portrait photography and a short, confident headline.
- Gave each of the six programs its own page with the same structure, so families can compare them quickly.
- Put the mission and vision in the organization’s own words on the About page.
- Kept the donate path one click away from every page.
